 The
Mill Fargas
The mill is
situatued in a valley, 4 km from the old
walled tourist town of Saint-jean-pied-de-port, and 55 km
from Biarritz.The mill dates from the 18th
century and is
on the road to Saint Jacques de Compostelle just 3
km from the Spamish boder.
Our
warm and friendly "table d'hôtes" serves meals on a veranda
overlooking the delightful trout river that runs under the mill where
you can sample many local specialities (home-made fois gras, confit de
port, garbure ....).
There
are different types of accommadations : bed &
breakfast, gîtes

Fly
fishing & activities
River
trout fishing is one of the most agreable yet complicated types of
fishing .
It's for this reason that we propose training sessions with an expert
for the differents techniques : flyfishing etc ...
You can fish along the banks of the river nive (300 km) where they are
fario, salmon, sea trout.
You
can also fish in a private lake stocked with rainbow trout, black-bass
and carp.
A fishing permit is not needed for the lake which is open all year
round.

By road from the motorway, A63
(Bordeaux Bayonne)
Take exit for "Bayonne
sud, cambo, Saint-Jean-pied-de-port, turn right at roundabout. Straigt
on 55 km along the D918 to Saint-Jean-pied-de-port. On arriving, just
before you enter the old town, turn very sharpy right singpost
"pamplune, Arnéguy". Straight on 4 km you'll see a sign
moulin de Fargas on your right. Turn into small track.
By
road from the motorway, A64 (Toulouse-Pau)
Take exit for salies
de bearn. Take the D933 towards Saint-Jean-pied-de-port. Keep following
the signs to
Saint jean pied de port, approx. 60 kms. Go through the small town and
as your leaving you pass through the old walls. Turn left signpost
"Pamplune, Arnéguy". Straight on 4 km you'll see a
sign "moulin de fargas" on the right. Turn right into small track.
